Do you recognise any of this? You are 60 or so, simply hate salads, simply love cream and butter, yet have known for ages that you must change? Then you have a big, expensive (voluntary) medical check-up and you are told some pretty important things about exercise (ugh!) and salads (ugh) ... and you?
Well, I have a friend who fits this bill. (Who am I kidding? It's me.) Full of foreboding I sought help from Amazon.com and bought this book.
Friends, if these are 'salads' you could fool me. Hardly a lettuce in sight. I have tried only two but let me tell you; my life has changed. For 'Super Salads' substitute 'Fabulous Food'. I have just flown in from the kitchen having sampled my second recipe, and I type this still sucking the flavour from my teeth.
Buy this book! (But please, DO ignore the stupid chapter headings.)

Super salads is a wonderful collection of recipes. I really love it! The ones I tried so far are so tasty, that you crave more and more, and what is best, they are good for you
Each recipe is introduced by a short description of the nutrients it contains and why they are good for you, but it doesn't make you think you are taking a medicine, like some other health food books, it is just something interesting to know about the delicious salad you are going to make.
Some of the recipes are unusual and some others just use the things you see every day, but combined in new ways that make them a real treat. ! I thought the date and soy sprouts one would be disgusting, but I tried and I was wrong! I loved it!
The layout is very nice and clear. There are some gorgeous pictures, and I would have liked to have more, but you can't have all, can you?

Do not buy this book if you are vegetarian. I bought this book after thoroughly enjoying Michael's Superjuice book but have found that too many of the salads contain meat or fish.
