5.0 out of 5 stars Read 'Super Joints', become Super Man! 20 Oct 2003
Format:Paperback
I am a practising martial artist, and the discipline that I practice, Tae Kwon-do, requires not only a great degree of flexibility in the leg muscles, but enormous suppleness in the joints (particularly the hips).

After reading many other flexibility books and from my own personal training, I formerly believed that I had what many would call a very large range of motion in my legs. However, after reading P. Tsatsouline's 'Super Joints, I was immediately amazed with the results.

I slid into the box splits with greater ease and with very little effort in my warm up; I performed thousands of repetitions of different kicks every workout without the aching in my knees that was all so familiar. My ankle joints became much stronger, which was very beneficial to my breaking techniques.

This book is a God-send. It helped me to develop and hone my skills as a martial artist and athlete to the a level which I, and many others, had never before witnessed.

Are you a budding martial artist? Are you a passionate athlete? Then buy this book. I can't put it simpler than that!

2.0 out of 5 stars Overpriced with too much blank space 21 July 2004
By A Customer
Format:Paperback
Pavel's books are full of blank spaces (he'll fill the top half of a page with a photograph or type and then leave the bottom half blank). He also uses large type and spaces deliberately in order to make the books longer than they need to be.
His kettlebell excerises are very good for the back,shoulders and hamstrings, although you should ignore his advice about not warming up beforehand (I've injured my shoulders by not warming up). As for "Super Joints" and "Relax into Stretch", I found them hugely disappointing. "Super Joints" is basically a collection of warm up exercises/claisthenics that you'll find in a dozen other books at a lower price. In summary-use his kettlebell techniques (with caution) and ignore the rest.

Format:Paperback
I found this book a waste of money, Pavel Tsatsouline seems to care more for advertising his products (with a 3rd of this book being adverts) rather than delivering a worthwhile book as said on another review its just large font and pictures.
total waste of money far more information can be found on the internet for free.

A more conservative approach to mobility training is to make slow circles with your joints, starting with small amplitude and working up to the joint’s max range. That is the Super Joints prescription for all the exercises laid out in this book. "e;

Roman chair situps. Sit on a sturdy stool, hook your feet under a couch, and do situps. Go down as low as your physical limitations allow. Come up, reaching forward towards your feet as far as you can. "e;
