About the Author
Michael van Straten is a highly respected authority on complementary medicine. He has practised as a specialist naturopath, osteopath and acupuncturist, with a special interest in the relationship between health, the food we eat and disease, for more than 35 years. He has presented the highly successful Bodytalk programme on LBC Radio for more than 25 years. Michael is the author of the best-selling Super series for Mitchell Beazley, which was launched with Superjuice in 1999. He appears regularly on TV and has presented his own series on herbs and cooking. He writes for the Daily Express, the Sunday Express and Woman as well as other magazines and newspapers.

makes you want to make them straight away,

This book is really encouraging and invigorating. All of the recipes are presented so as to make me want to head off to find the ingredients right now. About two thirds of them have full-page illustrations. I often get fed up with the lack of recipes for winter drinks without alcohol, but here there are loads of them. Very few don't sound tempting. You don't need odd equipment to make them either, and all of the ones I've looked at so far have very simple methods. He does go on a bit about the health side but actually I find him rather more convincing than other "health nuts". Very good for the Autumn/Winter time, and good value.
