OK, where do I start? First of all, I had never heard of the Clancy Brothers before I got this album, so I cannot say how it compares to their other albums.
The Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem was an Irish folk music band that was really popular in the 1960s, and it is easy to see why. This album is a mixed-bag of different songs. There is the fun and freewheeling Irish Rover and The Jug of Punch, the soulful Jennifer Gentle, the Irish-patriotic Patriot Game and A Nation Once Again. I found it to be a fun and catchy collection that I love listening to over and over again. My favorite songs on the album were definitely Jennifer Gentle and Fare Thee Well Enniskillen.
So, if you want a nice little album (only ten songs), with that nice Irish folk sound, then this is an album you should consider. Yes, it is short, but the price is right. I love this album, and highly recommend it!
