This game is the craziest thing I have ever played. From the wierd white character with the heart to my personnal favourite 'pukadon' the giant blue creature that enjoys nothing more than throwing up some white substance in the opening sequence-inspired.
The game however is lacking somewhat.
Whilst actually playing the game is quite enjoyable it does get very repetitive because there are very few modes of play. This is a shame because the modes on offer are fairly good.
On the whole the game seems very unpolished and seems slightly unfinished. One of the annoying things is that there is no 'life' system meaning if you fail one 'battle' you can continue again and agian without losing any points (trying to get a high score is the only reason you will be coming back).
The two player is OK but the highly anticipated four player is utter rubbish as you can win in about 3 seconds-iys not as if the gamecube couldn't handle a more intricate game so why is it such a broken down experience with three mates?
I did enjoy this game for about a week but I can't ever see myself playing it ever agin, it is possibly a game to buy if you see it cheap somewhere.

I loved this game on PC growing up and since losing the disc I discovered it for Gamecube. Excellent condition, quick delivery, pleased.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not so bad... 3 Nov 2003
If you've liked the previous incarnations of this game, or just enjoy a game that's as much fun to play on your own or with friends then this is the game for you. The new chain reaction mode is a great leveller when playing against an expert.
Some of the menus, sound effects, options and the manual could have been better, but these don't really detracted from the game itself.
This is great game, once you alter the control settings, hence only 4 stars, alter the "up" and "side" settings, so that they don't use the directional controls (e.g. assign them to the “x” and “y” buttons), this might just be a problem with the official Nintendo controller.
But overall I would highly recommend this game.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not so good... 21 Oct 2003
I purchased this game and have found the controls do not work correctly, UBI soft have blamed my GC, which I purchased from Amazon, my advice would be if you love this game, like me, wait until the issues with it have been fixed.
They've messed around with the characters, but otherwise it's the same beautiful game, just a shame the controls let it down, which if you know the game means the games ruined!
