Here are a couple of my favorite games: Wolves and Coyotes: Use whole number inequalities and problem solving strategies to explore how two predators vie for the same niche. Very easy to learn, but can be played on a highly challenging level. Probability on Ice: A figure skating routine in which kids can opt for harder jumps and spins (and thus score higher), but run a greater risk of falling. Which would you choose--the safe, easy routine or the daring, risky one? Measure Hunt: Find objects that match various lengths of cut-out "bone units," compare body measurements, and use prior knowledge to estimate lengths. The more kids play, the better they get!
And 22 other fun games that transform "doing math" into "playing math."
