Not sure what some of the other reviewers were getting at saying that it was confusing the fit. To me it seemed blatently obvious - you have a flap at the back which tucks down the back of the car seat and that's what secures the unit in place, simple and quick.
It's made of a black plastic fabric material which is easy to clean (essential) and is the right sort of size (it's praticially the dimensions of your average rear seat arm rest, if you car has one. The challenge I have with it is that everytime I put my kid in her car seat she's trying to reach over and get toys out of the Travel Pal when I need her to just sit back so I can strap her in - that's annoying, as if anything it just serves as a distraction. My daughter is 2 and is in a forward facing maxi cosi and there's no way she could help herslef to suff in the Travel Pal (the car seat is too high up for the child to reach down to the standard seat level). Maybe when she's older and on a booster seat it'll prove more useful. but at this stage it's just a car tidy and you have to reach over to get stuff out of it to hand to your child.
It seemed a good idea at the time, but not sure I'd have bothered knowing how it's turned out (or at least I would have waited until she was much older). It's not a poor reflection on the Travel Pal or how it's made, it's just one of those purchases that's turned out to be a little pointless.
