Seat Belt Guard 5 July 2010
By JohnS-W
We bought this alarm NOT to advise us when a mischievous child or grandchild undoes the seatbelt but to alert us when my Mother-in-Law (aged 92) undoes it.
And it "does just what is says on the tin".
Really easy to fit and works a treat - it should be sold not just to check on children releasing seatbelts but to check that anyone of any age fom 2 to 102 doesn't release seatbelts.
It takes all the worry out of wondering if the belt is still fastened, little fingers of any age are thwarted by this excellant piece of kit!

Too easily removed by small hands! 4 Sep 2011

If the whole premise is to keep your child buckled, perhaps it should be more difficult to take the mechanism off the seat belt. If I could keep my kids' hands off the buckle, I wouldn't need this product to begin with. Within 8 minutes, our kid had this entire assembly off his buckle. Once again, I was pulling off the road, only now there was an alarm I couldn't even silence. Every time you get out of the car, the alarm goes off. There is no silencer, so you have to bear out the duration of the alarm, however short. Also? My kid? He found it HILARIOUS. The only benefit to having this was that I *knew* when he unbuckled, as opposed to continuing to search the back seat quickly through my rear view mirror. However, after 3 days of trying to keep the stupid thing on the seat belt, I gave up. We resorted to bribery if he stayed buckled and while not my preferred method, it worked and was far better than having to continually fight small pieces of plastic. Save your money.
