Having a rather large custom made trailer that I've put a lot of time into I'm very concious of my efforts being stolen. I already have a heavy duty chain I attach to anything going to secure the trailer. However I was concerned that frequently the chain wasn't visible and someone would drive up feel lucky, hitch up and drive away, causing a lot a damage to the trailer when the chain suddenly stop this from happening.
I bought this lock as a visible deterrent. For the relatively small amount of money I paid for it, I wasn't expecting much. However I have been pleasantly surprised. It's of good study construction, fit's anything I've tried it on and has a very good pad lock on it. With enough time I'm quite convinced someone with an angle grinder could remove it, in my case that doesn't matter, however this is a step further than most people would be willing to go to in order to steal a trailer.
