Unlike most green and black olives, sunita black kalamata olives are a deep, rich aubergine in colour. When they are soaked in vinegar or brined, they may appear almost dark brown or black. On the tree, these purple almond-shaped fruits are hard to miss because of their beautiful colour. They also tend to pack more meat than the average black variety.

A tip is to soak them, changing the water several times, for edible salad/starter olives, and for cooking in sauces, stews, breads, etc, change the water only once or twice.
I don't often buy Kalamata, so could not comment on their taste. They're nice olives, with a good 'olive-y' taste, but no, they did not blow me away.
One is pleased to report, unlike other olives, they are a breeze to pit with a good pitter. Alas, some were overripe and mushy, but generally, most were still firm, like a good olive should be. For the trouble soaking them, not sure I would buy these again. My usual buy of brined olives are fine eaten out of the jar, but naturally, keep less well (but still 2 weeks at least, in their brine and jar, chilled).
A fair price for what your get, though I would pay more for something more special.
Would recommend without a doubt.
Bravo to the sellers!
It is really salty but if you soak it in water for a few hours and put few ml extra virgin olive oil in it, it is much better than many supermarket expensive brands. I am familiar with this brand as well. Buying again!
The packet, as shown, describes these olives as Kalamon (not Kalamata) and doesn't list any herbs in the ingredients. Amazon have slipped up a bit in their description!

The best olives I've found in Britain so far. Despite some reviews saying they're too salty they seemed perfect to me.Published 1 month ago by Alex
