As I approach my half century of life it strikes me I am drawn to this style of sentimental soul.The fact is it dates back to a time when real music was bought on vinyl and it was placed on a record player as a SOLE (soul!) means of entertainment.You didn't surf the net,chat online with music in the background; you simply LISTENED to the music! Sadly I suspect this concept is now a thing of the past.An MP3 player on the train/bus may be similar but sharing good music with friends is a differant experience expecially if they were of the opposite sex.
This is great music compiled by people who will understand my ramblings above.i dug out another comilation called 'Some Modern Soul'(see review) as this reminds me of that CD.They sit well beside each other.
This music is giving me a mid-life crisis-I have the urge to buy some DJ equipment and get out there and share it with the masses who don't appreciate this type of soul ever existed! A bargain price for a nice mix of uptempo,danceable, timeless classics.

Every tracks a winner. Anyone who listens to the show on Solar Radio will know what to expect and man do they deliver the goods, Absolutely storming havent played a CD this often for ages.
Highly recomended and I hope that there will be a volume 2 sometime soon.

you mr robbins are a god in the dj sense! this compo is one of the best ive ever heard, i cant believe how you have so many top tunes on one cd, keep the feeling going my man, you and the rest of the solar crew are the nuts! ps get volume 2 out please.
