OK so oasis haven't reached the extremely dizzy heights of Definitely Maybe...but then again who has???
However, they rarely let the side down and once again the Manc's have produced a beauty of a single. Sunday Morning Call is taken from the slightly disappointing "Standing on the..." LP, but disappointing this tune is most definitely not. It's a number in the Don't Look Back In Anger mould (not to say that its at all like it), i.e. an anthem sang straight from the soul of Noel with a chorus so catchy that you could go fishing with it. As at gigs gone by and i'm sure future humdingers this will have the hundreds and thousands of fans singing along creating that unity and atmosphere that only Oasis can produce.
Another great aspect to Oasis and their singles (and this is no exception) is the fact that they canny fail to add new songs on all b-sides and what's more they are all well worth having in your collection. On this occasion Carry Us All really carries this message home...bring it on!!!
So overall, not a classic, not an almost run, but a most enjoyable trio of tunes...definitely maybe.
