My daughter bought these for my Christmas and I'm very disappointed. I live in Scotland on the water front of a very wide river surrounded by beautiful mountains on both sides. When I got the binoculars I was over the moon and so excited to try them. The first thing I did was mount them on a very strong tripod and when I tried the 30 times magnification they were good, so good that I could read the names on shops on the opposite side of the river that is about 2 miles wide. When I tried the 30 times to 160 times magnification on the distant mountains they become blurred and so difficult to focus. I have tried many times on many different objects but once I go above the 30 times magnification they are blurred and a waste of time. If they hadn't been a Christmas present I would have returned them.

These are good binoculars, read lots of reviews and I was undecided on what to do, but ended up gambling and I am we'll impressed. I am by no means a binocular specialist but hope my comments help. They are definitely NOT a beginners binocular so I recommend trying some 10x50 type strength to begin with to get used to handling binoculars. The sunagor are very powerful and due to this you need bright light or dark skies and bright objects. The magnification is great and you will be amazed at what you can see. Tripod does help but I manage reasonably well without. I'm pleased with my purchase good quality sturdy binoculars.

After reading the reveiws finally bought these bins, and to be very honest thats all they`re fit for binning, not clear fuzzy on lowest mag,on highest full power not enough light, yes brings object close but not crisp and clear still fuzzy, even with sun directly behind you, dont be taken in,best if you can try before bying,my pentax 16x50 far better than these,it does state these bins take some getting used to and by jingo they`re right, most dissapointed. For sale brand new £150.00

I already knew the Sunagor name from years back because I've had some of their camera lenses which were always first class, so they know their stuff about optics.

The 30-160x70 Mega Zoom binoculars interested me because I wanted a lot of power and, with a top magnification of 160 times, these babies are supposed to be the most powerful binoculars available. On that basis, I bought them and I have to say they are absolutely awesome. Even at their minimum zoom setting of 30 times they are more powerful than anything I've ever looked through before and then, when you slide the zoom lever to zoom in, the magnification is unbelievable. The Sunagor's are big but sturdy and well built and I think they are certainly worth the money especially if you want to look at really distant things - the one point I would add though is that to make the most of these binoculars, they should really be used with a tripod because it can be difficult to hold them steady when you use all that available power. There was a tripod adapter included with the binoculars so it was simple enough to just attach the binocs to a camera tripod I already had.

I have owned quite a number of Sunagor Binoculars over the years and find the contiuing trend to make more and more powerful binoculars to be complete waste of time. They become suitable for hardly anything. This is mainly because the field of view is so extremely limited especially for every day use. At anything over the 30 magnification mark a tripod or monpod becomes essiential.
What I do accept is that the quailty that goes into Sunagor is extremely good. I just urge everyone to try before they buy because there are better options around depending on what you want to view. I have personally found that the older Sunagor 15-80 x 70 to be far far more practicable.

Power like no other!!!

This was a big purchase for me as I have been waiting to buy a pair of powerfull zooms for a few years now but couldn't find one that met my standards. I read an article about these in The Sunday Times and became interested but needed further information before I was to go ahead and purchase them. So I called the brand and they were very helpful and they eventually forwarded me on to purchase them from Amazon.

Once they arrived I spent some time testing them out and first looks (always important to me) were very positive. I have now had them for 3 months and have given them a full workout. I am very impressed. The rubber armour is strong and when you handle them you can really feel their true quality. The objectives are very large and give plenty of light for good, bright viewing. The focus, including dioptric ring, gives a very clear picture, even on extreme magnifications. They are quite big, but baring in mind their full power, this is to come with the territory.

Talking of the power, the brand claimed that they were the `world's most powerful' and to be honest I was very sceptical at first. However, after using them, I can truly conclude that this is certainly the case. Testing them too their full magnification, I could spot even the smallest bird specie from a significant distance away. This gives the nature viewer an excellent advantage and means that there is no need to go `tactical' and undergo the difficulties of trying to get close for a clear view of a bird who is scared off at the slightest noise.

These binoculars have certainly been built to laste and I am sure I will get many more years of enjoyment out of their extraordinary features.
