1.0 out of 5 stars A bit too buggy for me 8 Jan. 2013

It has a tendency to occasionally report a winning combination that isn't in the supposedly winning hand, eg. A pair that isn't there. The raise button frequently doesn't work as expected.

1.0 out of 5 stars Boring 17 Dec. 2013

I like to play Texas Hold'em Poker. This does not work the way I would like, so after a couple of games, I deleted it. It is probably unfair to only give it one star, as I now cannot really remember how it played. Perhaps someone else would like it.

Freezes regularly, and doesn't award pots correctly. players that go all in and lose still get dealt, and win but your money dissspears. Not even worth the dollar.

1.0 out of 5 stars Do not buy this crap app. 24 Oct. 2013

This is terrible. Whoever designed this doesn't understand the rules of hold em poker. It makes you bet to see each card in the flop, then doesn't show you a turn or a river card. The raise button doesn't work. The graphics are amateurish. It's general response is clunky, and you have to sit through other players single dollar bets, even though you have folded. Not worth the time or the money.

2.0 out of 5 stars better than nothing...maybe 4 Feb. 2012

I don't like the graphics: 4 computerized competitors are different "joker" icons. The actual user's hand is not clearly shown: one card is larger than others, one is same size as competitors' cards.. Can't always follow when computer-generated character is betting. Screen indicates $ amount in the pot, but does not indicate $ amount of antes, nor does it indicate blinds, so I can't tell how that amount got into the pot. Poor betting capabilities: at level 1, looks like you can only bet $1; was not able to increase my bet. This is NOT a no-limit version of the game. This is NOT a "Texas Hold'em" version of the game. - There are only 3 "community cards" face up, not 5. Once a hand is dealt, you choose from 1 of 4 choices (fold, check, bet/call, raise). Only valid choices are blackened; invalid choices are grayed out. I'm still learning poker basics (e.g. what hand beats what), so for me this is still "better than nothing," because I can at least practice the general idea of the game. Also, this seems to be one of the few G-rated poker apps on Kindle, because it doesn't involve a strip-tease! For serious poker players who already know how to play, though, this would not be a good version of poker.
Updated 2/10/12 - the more I attempt to play this game, the more frustrating it is. With only 3 community cards, and 3 opponents, the odds are basically stacked against me ever winning. I have since downloaded the "PokerFlash" app, and find that to be much more entertaining and fun, while still being a good learning tool to recognize poker hands.
