How to compile a 3 CD set called Essential Sun Collection-take the obvious hits and then select the rest with a pin.
Since when has it become essential to include Pat Hare's I'm gonna murder my baby?
Not only that but some of this stuff is not even from Sun but Sun International which was founded in the late 70s and began to license recordings by Leroy Van Dyke and Roy Drusky among others. They may even have signed Sleepy la Beef for all I know-he'd been on so many labels.
Not worth anything to my mind but I gave it 3 stars as hate is too strong a word even for a mish mash like this

tricky micky 8 Dec 2011
I bought a good selection of sun recordings with a mixture of blues country and rock and billy records what ever people want to call it its all good stuff and i remember waching a film on tv called red hot that was a true story about two school boys in russia that smugled rocknroll and rockabilly in to the country and where bootleging the music so there friends could hear the music as its the only music in history that was band all over the world the two boys where cought and where shot dead from a firing squad theres a lot of reasons why people in the 50s never heard the music d.jays where told not to play it and a lot of singers only lived in hope that there music would be herd thanks for the plesuare of listening to the music that no one was a loud to at one time it was only elvis. bill haley. and a selective few that made it tricky micky
