Product Description

Product Description

It was the chase. It was the woman. It was the hunt. It was survival.

When Neanderthals and modern man battled for supremacy, survival depended upon a clan's leadership, weapons, tool-making skills, herbal medicines, and relationships. Some warriors kidnapped women with superior skills to strengthen their own clans. The marriage ritual was a brutal act. Women could be stoned by a clan for defying customs. New ideas and strange ways marked a person as odd and an outcast.

Lalena was the daughter of the Great One, a warrior venerated by two clans. The widow of the Great One, Lena, raised their daughter alone in a hilltop cave above the villages. There, secluded from both clans, Lalena learned mysticism, healing arts and the advanced skills of both her father and mother. As the daughter of the Great One, Lalena was strong and independent. To her clansmen, though, she was strange and different.

Lendo grew up hearing village bonfire stories of how the Great One had fended off a war party to protect their women and children. Ever since the clan leader had looked down at him, smiled and tousled his hair, Lendo's sole ambition was to succeed the Great One whom he revered. Yet greatness requires sacrifice, and Lendo had yet to be tested.

My Sun and Moon is the first novella in the Parallax Series. A parallax is defined as the effect of an object being seen from two separate points of view. In My Sun and Moon, the story is told by both Lalena and Lendo.

4.0 out of 5 stars Early man and his woman 14 Nov 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
An interesting and pleasant story set in Neolithic times, written from the two separate perspectives of a man and his woman. Well thought out and described, displaying the emotions and pathos of two completely different individuals. Unusual in its concept without the concerns and fears for survival in a hostile world, this novel concentrates just on the individuals and the laws of the tribe.

I loved this fast paced book from start to finish! Annie Armstrong brought an ancient world to life, and I especially liked how the story was told from Lalena and then Lendo's perspectives. I can't wait for the next book!

Its a great book! It reminds me of the writing style of Samuel Clements (Mark Twain), different characters but similar writing style (first person format). I definitely would recommend this to anyone looking for a good e-book to read when they are traveling. I can't wait to see what she writes next and she DEFINITELY has a fan in me!
