Hanna Mina has written a remarkable book, and Bassam Frangieh makes translation an art. Loved this book and recommend it to all.

Hanna Mina is one of the leading novelists in the Middle East. A writer who has to his credit more than 25 novels but none was translated into English. This particular novel was described by a leading literary critic as "One of the most important novels in the history of the Arabic novel without exception."( Faysal Darraj).

I read this novel more than one time and every time I discover something new in it. Bassam Frangieh truthfully wrote in the preface" As for this novel, it was written with the hope that it would give many people a new and clearer understanding of themselves and the world around them. Sun on a Cloudy Day needs to be read more than once. It is like painting,revealing itself fully only upon contemplation."

This novel is a most beautiful read.
