This is an excellent product, plays anything you throw at it, never experienced any of the problems a few people have. Just be aware for all those reviews that talk about a 1TB and even 2TB drive, that is not included in this product this is a hard-drive enclosure only. I bought it spefically to house a 2TB I had lying around, if your not confident installing your own drive (a few screws) buy one of the pre-installed ones available on amazon, (500GB,1TB & 2TB) there still very economical.

This product is great, it does everything is says. It is easy to use, the control is well designed and works from a good distance. If you want a cheaper media player that does pretty much everything, this is the one to buy.

Firstly I think this unit is on its way to being the best available.
Good.
Plays any movie file format I own. The picture is excellent with .MKV
The remote control does not suffer from the latency of the Somovision micro player.
Bad.
The films will show a black screen for varying amounts of time at varying frequencies normally for a second or two at a time.
I have the unit fitted with a Samsung 2TB internal drive and the issue is there regardless of movie file format or if the internal or an external drive is used. I have also formatted the drives as FAT and NTFS without any improvement.
People are mentioning a firmware update on other forums for the unit so I will look into this and post more information.
It really is a pity about this asI would otherwise give this unit 5 stars.

Great for the price.
If you have an old harddrive from an old pc or anything this is the media player you want. just open it up and put in your drive. Does what it says on the tin!

Doesn't support 5.1 / DTS audio via HDMI
Whilst this media player may play most files, it only supports stereo (2.0) sound via HDMI even after upgrading the firmware (which is supposed to fix this issue). Read more

Easy to use
I inserted my old 1tb hard disc into this with no problems, just a couple of screws to open the cover then attach the power and Sata cables (already the box). Read more

No copy option to hard drive from sd or usb
Plays most things you throw at it but the 1 major flaw is you cant copy from usb or sd card to the hard drive(if you put 1 in) and as its not wireless its pretty much no good to me... Read more
