Sadly, I cannot review the effectiveness of the Microfix Digital Microscope because the software does not work with Windows 7 on my PC.
I have contacted the company two months ago for asssistance in this incompatibility problem and they have acknowledged my request for help. However, since then they have not replied to my hastener and no help has been forthcoming.
I can therefore not recommend this item to others as my own is unusable until suitable software is available. This is the first bad experience I have had with an Amazon product in several years of successful purchases.

Very quick and easy to set up and use. Great for use in the classroom or at home with the kids. Easy focusing wheel and snapshot button. It seems to require the software CD to be loaded every time I use it, though, as if it's not been installed...(probably my mistake!) Enough magnification to see some remarkable things. Good value.

The purpose of buying this Microfix USB Digital Microscope was for use in identifying Roman and other coins I| find whilst Metal Detecting and also to check my collection of postage stamps.
To say I am pleases with its performance is an understatement, it is really fantastic and I thoroughly recommend that it should be a major part of any other enthuiastic collector.
