Reading this book was like taking a mini vacation. I literally didn't exhale until the last page... it is such an exciting and inspiring journey. Ms. Ireland makes you want to kick of your shoes and live a more carefree life filled with friends, animals, seasonal fresh food all while sitting on squishy sofas covered in gorgeous fabrics. A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!!

I want to go to France NOW!!!

I've been to France twice, and both times I've had memorable trips. But I have to admit this book is so vivid and exciting that I can't wait to go back. I love Ireland's unpretentious style and fun attitude!
This is a book for anyone that loves design, family, France, tradition, cooking or the outdoors. I was totally blown away by this book -- I had to be restrained after reading it so I didn't immediately buy a one way plane ticket!

Wish I lived in France!

This book is a great inspiration for people who love design and entertaining. I read it from cover to cover and there are a lot of helpful tips that can be easily duplicated in your own life! I do wish I owned a fabulous house in the country side though!

Poor Value for Money and Bookshelf Space

While there are some decorating, recipe, and hostess advice gems in this book, you have to dig to find them. The typewriter font and scrapbook layout irritates me, and the book is as much about Kathryn Ireland as it is about being in France. I also don't like that there is no real logic to the book's organization. This book does not give enough value for the money, or enough value to warrant taking up the bookshelf space.
