This book was wonderful. A story of hope, adventure and learning of life. A story of a young boy who is on a search to find these monkeys worth a valuble reward. Along the way he encounters breath taking mistakes and funny sircumstances. This book is a wonderful one if you like funny and entertaining. It will keep you on the edge of your seat! I couldn't put the book down until I finished it, which was at about 12:00am. It is so good. You must read it; a great summertime book you will absolutely love!

4.0 out of 5 stars Well- written and interesting, 24 Jun 1999
By A Customer
"Summer of the Monkeys" is a very well written book by Wilson Rawls who has written many books including Where the Red Fern Grows. In this book a 14year old boy named Jay Berry who lives in the Ozark mountains finds monkeys near the river bottoms. To catch the monkeys he must go through many funny and scary activites. The best part of the book is when he helps his sister. I think whoever reads this book will really enjoy it!

This review is from: Summer of the Monkeys (Hardcover)
This book is an enjoyable one, thats is for sure! It is about a boy named Jay Berry who lives in the Winnebago Cherokeee Indian reservation. His little sister, Daisy has a crippled leg. His grandpa helps him catch the monkeys that he wants to catch. To find out the rest you must read the book youself. Sarah
