It also includes tips on work permits, including the Work in Britain scheme for American students, and information on taxation, and the British national minimum wage.
Opportunities featured include possibilities to work as catering staff from Land's End to John O'Groats; guides in a Scottish whisky distillery; ticket marshals at a Grand Prix race track; apple pickers and marquee erectors; software designers; hang-gliding instructors; helpers at a monkey sanctuary; ride operators at theme parks; teachers of English as a foreign language; or as volunteers at Buddhist retreats, on steam railways, or on the archaeological excavation of a Roman fort.

5.0 out of 5 stars What A Time-Saver! 11 Dec 2003
By A Customer
Wow, I've only had this book a few days, and it's already saved me hours of searching around for jobs!

I'm looking to travel around Britain doing various casual jobs. Searched the Net for ages with no real success. This book has lots of really good listings/contacts plus some other helpful hints.

Now I can get on earning some real money; so it's probably paid for its self straight-away.
