When he finally drove onto the ranch it was to find yet another truck in by the barn. Only this one wasn't from any media outlet and what was slowly backing out of the trailer had him as open-mouthed as any cartoon character.

"What the--"

"You see it, too, then," Heidi said coming up beside him. "I thought maybe I had brain damage from the flu."

This is only one passage in Summer Days that made me laugh out loud. Rafe and Heidi's story is such a great read. The story is centered around Castle Ranch in Fool's Gold, California. Heidi Simpson meets Rafe Stryker when he comes to find out why his mother, May got swindled out of the ranch she thought she was purchasing from Glen, Heidi's grandfather. What follows is a story that takes you from California, to San Francisco, Los Angeles, and back again with goats, horses, sheep and more thrown in for fun.

Susan Mallery has done it again with the continuation of her Fool's Gold series. She does a great job of bringing the town and all of its characters to life. It makes you want to go visit for one of its many festivals. I definitely recommend Summer Days and any of the previous books in the Fool's Gold series to anyone who hasn't tried Susan's books before. You will not be disappointed!

Summer Days is a lovely relaxed, happy summer read or if you, like me are freezing in England's winter then it is a delicious distraction :)

Heidi and Rafe are an engaging pair who work through their baggage and issues on the pages of this very sweet novel. It is I believe the latest in a long string of novels set in the town of Fools Gold but is the first of Susan Mallery's books I have ever read - I will happily look out for more.Fools Gold sounds an idyllic place full of kind and caring souls who are constantly falling in love! But there is enough honesty and humour in the novel to counteract the super-sweetness and somehow the storyline remains plausible. May and Glen are completely engaging and I won't even try and explain the goats, elephants and llama's - have fun discovering them for yourself.

If you like romantic comedies this one is for you.

I like this series and I have read all the Fools gold books so far but I find they either grab me from the 1st chapter or take a few chapters to get started, this one took a few chapters to get started! It's good it has the romance and fun story line Susan Mallery books always have and all the characters are here from previous books which is another plus for me as it feels like you are catching up with old friends.

This is Heidi and Rafe's book, Rafe comes back to Fools Gold as he believes £250,000 dollars was taken from his mum May, after she thought she had bought a ranch, a ranch Heidi now lives and runs, after her grandad Glen tricked Rafe's mother out of the money to help his friend get his treatment for cancer. They then end up in court trying to battle out who gets the ranch. once it gets going its a fun book perfect for reading on holiday or on a plane cant wait to see who is up next.

The book's dont have to be read in order, as they each have there own storyline but like any series you do get more from them if you start with book one
