As other reviewers have said, be prepared to receive a HUGE bag of oat bran, but as if often the case with bulk buying, you'll end up making a good saving. Here's how much you save compared to other oat bran suppliers;
Suma oat bran bought from amazon @ 1.93p per 1kg
Tesco's own brand oat bran @ £3.98 per 1 kg
Mornflake oat bran @ £2.49 per kg
Holland and Barrett own brand oat bran @ £3 per 1 kg
I've tried all of the above brands and as far as I can tell, the only difference between them is the price. True, you will need to make some space in your cupboard for 5kg of oat bran, but it's worth it for the money that you save. (the amazon free delivery is another bonus!)

Apart from the fact that I love the taste of Oat Bran porridge, and this seems to be the best that I have tasted so far, this product is very good value. I had been paying in the region of £2.00 for just 500g in my local supermarket until I spotted this on the Amazon site. Now I am a firm purchaser. I use oat bran in my cooking now that I have discovered this 5kg size bag. 5kg might seem a bit daunting at first, but I would suggest that you do what I have done, and store most of it in an airtight container, (I used a very large screw top glass jar) and keep any residual amount, in the original bag it comes in, for day to day use.

My husband and I both have 2tbsp of oatbran per day because of its many health benefits including reducing cholesterol, and we also use it in cooking and baking. The Suma Oat Bran is an excellent product at an excellent price and comes very well packaged. Will definitely continue to order this product from Amazon.

Remember the old joke - what is heavier a tonne of feathers or a tonne of lead - well volumetrically speaking this is comparable. 5KG is quite a big bag in bran terms.

However it is great value and great bran and now means I don't have to worry about running out for the rest of the year.

brilliant value for money, easy to prepare, and keeps me full up for longer than normal porridge
I thought I would just share my breakfast recipe-
oatbran porridge-
soak 1/3 cup oatbran in 1 cup milk for at least 10 minutes or even overnight (this prevents any grittyness in the final porridge)
add a pinch of salt and cinnamon. microwave for 3 minutes, stirring halfway. leave to stand for 5 minutes (to cool and thicken)
top with honey/fruit/nuts etc

I've been adding a spoonful or more of Suma Oat Bran to my breakfast every day for the last couple of weeks since it arrived, and will definitely be buying more -- it's very tasty.
Adds a lovely flavour and bite when sprinkled over fresh fruit and yoghurt. I've also enjoyed it as porridge by replacing half my normal porridge oats with this bran, and will probably switch to making porridge with 100% oat bran when I've finished the current bag of normal porridge oats as I really enjoy the taste and creamier texture. I've also put the odd spoonful into a couple of savoury recipes, but haven't experimented with this use much as I've not cooked many suitable dishes since buying it.
Supposedly, the additional fibre is good for me, but I can't say whether my cholesterol levels etc have been helped by eating the extra soluble fibre in the bran, but it's helping the environment by choosing organic, and I'm certainly enjoying eating it. I was very apprehensive about trying oat bran as it's not what you normally think of as an everyday food, but I'm loving it! I'll definitely be buying more, although this big bag is likely to last a pretty long time (at 25-50g per day, it'll last about 4 months!).

Edit:
Second bag just purchased! This is used daily in our house now, not because of any health benefits/effects, but because it's just so good to eat!

I used to buy little bags from the supermarket but Suma Oat Bran is just as good and much cheaper in 5 kg bags. I have it for breakfast every day.

Selected Oat Bran as it is slightly higher in fibre content than wheat bran. Excellent quality and is being used in lots of different meals. The pale colour helps it to blend into more foods than the brown varieties of bran. 5 kg is a lot - but if stored properly will be fine.
