AN ARRANGED MARRIAGE 16 Aug 2011
By L. Sims TOP 100 REVIEWER
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
Princess Samia Binte Rashad al Abbas is waiting for her appointment with Sadiq Sultan of Al-Omar,his office door is ajar and she can hear him talking on the telephone. He is discussing her with someone, and it is not very complimentary. Samia had always been shy and lacking in self confidence, mostly due to her treatment from her stepmother. Sadiq has asked to see Samia as he has chosen her to be his bride and queen. She is very reluctant but this marriage will have important implications for her country and her brother Kaden the ruling Emir of Burquet. Eventually she is persuaded, she believes that Sadiq has chosen her because she is shy and she has never been featured in the press, but has always kept a low profile. But she had no intention of fitting in to Sadiq's plans. She had always worked for a living, and fully intended to involve herself into projects that were close to her heart.
This is a good story and well written as one would expect from Abby Green. The hero is as usual tall dark, handsome and very enigmatic. Samia is shy unassuming and caring. The problem I had with the story was, I found it hard to believe that a princess, heir to her brothers throne would be allowed to wander anywhere she pleased without her own bodyguards, and why was she so impressed with Sadiq's homes was she not used to opulence herself? I also could not understand why Sadiq was paying for her bridal clothes would that not have been her brother's responsibility and where was her family? It did not fit in with Samia's character instead she was portrayed as though Sadiq had plucked a ordinary girl from everyday life. But it was a fairly good read, though not as good as some of Ms.Green's previous novels.

The Sultan's Choice 13 May 2012

This is the first Kindle book I have read with so many typographical and grammatical errors. It became quite distracting after a short while. This made reading the book not very enjoyable. Why did this happen? Disappointed.

Not the usual AG style which i love about the author. so this was a disappointing read. The heroine was too submissive.
