I have become a huge fan of sugru, and used it to fix and improve all sorts of things that I would struggle to fix any other way. It's like putty when you get it out of the packet, mouldable and a bit sticky, and it sets overnight into a slightly flexible solid silicone. Much easier to work with than silicone sealant, it can be shaped and stuck to most surfaces, and is heat and cold resistant so you can use it to fix a dishwasher rack or a fridge shelf. I've used it to mend tiny broken clips on the bottom of a vertical blind, fix cracked housing for a car wing mirror, stabilise a loose fitting cupboard handle... but most successfully, to prolong the life of iPhone/iPad/MacBook charger leads - these always seem to fail at the joint between the wire and the plastic plug, and with several gadgets in the house, I was annoyed how often they needed replacing. Wrap sugru around the junctions, and the lead lasts for... well, over a year so far, and counting.
It does stick to your fingers a bit, but wipes off reasonably easily with kitchen paper. It has a slight smell before it sets but not strong or unpleasant. Yes, it's quite expensive for a small amount, but I've got my money back several times over by fixing or protecting things that I'd otherwise have to pay to replace.
You can get sugru in various colours which you can blend, but I've found black and white do for most things. It has a limited lifespan before use, which you can extend by keeping it in the fridge. There is a website with ideas and advice if you're not sure how to use it. If you're the sort of person who fixes things with blu-tak or tape, get some sugru and you will find dozens of ways to use it to fix and improve things!

I was able to fix the broken rubber membrane keypad on my car keys so I now have a fully functional transducer key fob without having to go to the expense of getting a new key and a new transducer code. Happy camper.

Excellent stuff. I needed to mend a broken strap handle on my fridge door and hadn't much hope of getting the Sugru to work, as it's like plasticine and I needed it to be more rigid. But I propped the handle up while it set and, although it isn't immovable like its partner on the freezer door, it looks like a proper handle and is strong enough to be pulled. It looks much better and works well.

I had the pack in the fridge for a month and at the weekend needed to repair a rubber cover that directed the water off the car windscreen in to the gutter along the wing. It was a very awkward shape with curves in three directions and in a tight corner. After a quick experiment I mixed some black with white to get a nearly matching dark grey colour and enough for the job, moulded it with my fingers and was easily able to get a suitable shape and to get it to stick to a thin edge of existing rubber.

It dried over Saturday night and rained heavily on Sunday to test it for me. Works perfectly. The dried result is still slightly flexible. It has stuck well to all the surrounding surfaces, metal rubber and hard plastic. Very pleased.

My daughter told me about SUGRU ..wish I had found it years ago .have mended loads of stuff that I kept ... Also put it on the ends of my iPad charger as have found that they tend to wear out with all the tugging so have mended one and put it on all my new and old leads to prevent wear and tear . Mended my glasses which are plastic and no other glue has stuck to it before .i have mended so much stuff I can't remember wot they are ! But it is certainly a very good find .

Sugru is one of those things that once you get your hands on some you realise this is what you always needed for a bunch of little fixes. Anything where you need to stick stuff together or make things grip, this is the perfect solution. Previously I had a thing for orange sugru but I'm finding these days that white and particularly black is increasingly useful for little patching jobs where the emphasis is not on standing out.

Excellent. I have mended my dog walking boots. The stitching was coming undone and now the leather is glued together and is waterproof. It's not a pretty sight but the mud has soon covered the repair.Haven't used it on anything else yet.
