Big Sugar 1 Jan 2012
Format:Hardcover
There are so many vested interests peddling sugar, yet the research (and this book) is clear. Sugar is deadly. The two Big Sugar films (one relating to the slave trade and sugar plantations and the other the modern commercial interests in marketing sugar) also illustrate the problems.

I gave up sugar about 4 years ago. Instantly I stopped catching any germs. I had previously had 6 sore throats or colds laying me low for 3 or more weeks a time all my life. It was life changing. Now I see all over how many people and in how many contexts try to force sugar on all of us all the time.

In the UK and US more people are over weight than not now. In the 1940s in the UK the average woman was my height - 5 foot 4 and weight 8 and a half stones ( 119 pounds). It is no coincidence that our weights have increased, diabetes increased and indeed depression increased in line with sugar consumption. A rare treat has become a primary source of calories for many. The work of de Maisons (radiantrecovery.com) and many psychiatric clinics on the linkage between brain chemicals and diet fits in here too.

Few Governments are brave enough to legislate to ensure we return to eating how we used to eat. When I was given recently lots of sugar as gifts I thought if I had been a cocaine addict or alcoholic and you had neatly packaged up cocaine or whisky and handed it to me, the reformed addict at Christmas, you would have been derided but because my addiction was sugar it is somehow okay.

Buy the book.

AMAZING!!! 28 Nov 2011

Format:Hardcover
I really cannot recommend this book enough. I suggest that EVERYONE purchases this book because it reveals the true dangers of sugar. Not only that, but it also tells you the best way to lose weight as well when you get further in.

The book explains how sugar is a large contributing factor to heart disease, and many other diseases that you would never think it was linked to. It also explains why you should ignore the government's recommended guidelines for food; because they are WRONG. Buy it, it really could save your life.

I am actually buying two copies; one to keep as my main copy and the other to annotate.

The message in this book is essential for everyone to read and understand. The order of chapters and contents of each one makes the message too hard for many to grasp. If the early chapters contained the proof of his arguments and detailed the ignorance of the medical community, and the later chapters contained a simple description of how to use this information, the whole message would be more easily understood and applied.
