5.0 out of 5 stars Happy Memories of Eve Boswell...Sugar Bush Girl 24 July 2009
By C. FULLER TOP 50 REVIEWER VINE VOICE
Tracks: Sugar Bush with Phil Green orch/ Bewitched with Geraldo/ I'm in Love Again with Geraldo/ Transatlantic Lullaby with Geraldo/ Hi-Lili, Hi-Lo with Phil Green orchestra/ Moon Above Malaya with Phil Green orchestra/ On the Waterfront with Ron Goodwin orchestra/ The Little Shoemaker with Phil Green orchestra/ Everything I Have is Yours with Phil Green orchestra/ I'll be Around/ Skokiaan with Ron Goodwin orchestra/ Here in My Heart with Phil Green orchestra/ All My Life with Geraldo/ The Way that the Wind Blows with Geraldo/ Would You? with Geraldo/ Oh MY Love, Oh My Heart with Phil Green orchestra/ Broken Heart with Geraldo/ I Ain't Gonna Marry with Phil Green orchestra/ Tell Me You're Mine with Phil Green orchestra/ Don't Ever Leave Me with Phil Green orchestra/ My Heart Cries for You with Geraldo/ Your Mother and Mine with Phil Green orchestra/ I Believe with Phil Green orchestra/ A Million Stars with Phil Green orchestra/ I'm Yours with Geraldo.
Running time approx 72 minutes for this 25-track compilation, which concentrates, on the work of Eve Boswell with Geraldo, Phil Green and Ron Goodwin. In his liner notes Hugh Palmer mentions a TV series on which Geraldo and Don Moss presented numerous well-known singers of the standard era including Eve Boswell, Anne Shelton, Lita Roza etc. The show had 2 resident singers Janie Marden and Scott Peters does anyone know what happened to either of them? The recordings here cover many styles from the traditional "All My Life" to religious inspirational songs like "I Believe" and chart items such as "The Little Shoemaker" and her own big hit "Sugar Bush Girl". Again the sound quality is excellent.
