Suffering Scientists is a great way to learn about scientists without getting bored to death. This book explains different scientists in a very sickening way. Along with talking about scientists, it explains science and shows how to do experiments which are sometimes gory. There are 4 main chapters, each with it's own science. They are astromony, chemistry, biology and phisics and have the vey famous scientists in this category. They have very famous scientists like Albert Einstein ands Issac Newton. The illustrations are very funny with a joke in most of them. These usually make you laugh and tell other people. It is guaranteed to keep you reading for a few hours with it's long pages, puzzles and quizzes. That's why I give this book five stars.

`Science with the squishy bits left in!'

`Suffering Scientists gives you a painful potted history of scientists and their discoveries, from the first Greek brain-boxes to modern-day geniuses.

Read about brilliant breakthroughs, explosive experiments - and some feeble failures. Discover....

what made Albert Einstein forget where he lived.

which female scientist was chopped up into tiny pieces.

why Galileo did a torturous stretch on the rack.

If you think you can stomach the `sick' side of Science, read on to find out how radium was discovered in a shed, who caused a stink with some `very' smelly chemicals and how Isaac Newton started a UFO scare.

With fantastic fact files and curious quizzes, teacher tests and crazy cartoons, `Suffering Scientists' is crowded with info!'

Science has never been so horrible!'

Slightly more expensive than the regular `Horrible Science` series, `Explosive Experiments' is one of the `Specials' and stands slightly higher at c8.5" high.

224 pages, split over 6 chapters:-

Suffering ancient scientists

Suffering scientific methods

Suffering astronomers

Suffering chemists

Suffering biologists

Suffering physicists

with an introduction and an epilogue.

Written in a variety of fonts in the usual Nick Arnold entertaining style.

Black and white illustrations/cartoons throughout, as well as `Bet you never knew' fact-boxes and `Horrible Danger Warnings`, e.g.:-

`Do not perform this experiment at meal times or when there are priceless ornaments on the table. Otherwise you will have to clear up the mess and eat your meals on the floor with the cat......'

We would also recommend the `Dead Famous`, now being re-labelled as `Horribly Famous' series of books as great additional reads to this book.
