5.0 out of 5 stars Breathtaking, 13 Aug 2003
By A Customer
This is a must buy book! Although I thought the book started a bit slow I realised it was mainly to introduce lots of different families/people of which were vital later on in the book. I just could not put this book down. It was just unbelieveable, breathtaking and also heartbreaking, brilliant read would recommend this book to anyone.

5.0 out of 5 stars Grim and unputdownable!, 21 Feb 2001
Similar sort of tragic tale to " The Girl In The Box". This account of the instantly loathsome Jesse Cummings and his sad, pathetic brainwashed wives Anita and Sherry makes you want to scream "kill him" or "Take your kids and run". One of those books that you still think about long after you've read the last page! Fasinating.

4.0 out of 5 stars HE RULED HIS FAMILY WITH MURDER, 9 Jun 2002
By Paula Lees "ladybrum" (Birmingham, UK) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
The instantanously dislikeable Jesse Cummings and his remarkable iron fist of rule makes you desperately want to scream at his 2 wives 'for god's sake get out now'.
This is a truly remarkable story about one mans loathsome life, his hatred, and his unimaginable torturing and sexual abuse of young girls, of forcing his wives into prostitution, and ultimately the mental cruelty of pitting each victim against each other. Thank god that at least one of his wives found the strength and the courage eventually to notify the police.
Read this book - it is worth the purchase price.
