4.0 out of 5 stars ABC Trilogy 10 April 2006
Great value getting 3 good stories in one volumn. I enjoyed A for Alibi and B for Burglar best. The C for Corpse storyline was a little obvious and I felt slightly frustrated with some of the loose ends ..... still I enjoyed all three reads and Sue Graftons easy style and her Kinsey character. So much so, that I've now orderd the DEF Trilogy!

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant detective work by an unorthodox female 25 Feb 2002
Discovered Sue Grafton's character Kinsey Malone whilst on holiday in the US. This compendium of her first three novels in the alphabet series all flow on, in time, after each other. Kinsey's unusual humour and outlook on life along with her dogged perseverence to see a job through is a winning combination.
This gripping crime series made me want more and I also purchased the next three letters in the series, again in compendimum format - again brilliant. A recommended read to any crime buff.

1.0 out of 5 stars Definitely not 5 star 2 May 2008
A is for anaemic (as in plot, scripting, ending...)
B is for boring
C is for can I get a refund

I have never read anything so lightweight and padded with excess descriptions of dress style, almost down to what model of sewing machine put some character's shirt together. Some serious editing to sharpen up the text, and tighter line spacing might end up with a decent short story.

4.0 out of 5 stars Sue Grafton Alphabet Series 28 Jun 2011
A marvellous start to the series of Sue Grafton novels. Kinsey Millhone is a Private Investigator and these books are a delight - and very easy to read. They keep you glued to the pages as the stories unfold. I now have the whole series up to the present and can't waitfor the next one to come. I will be completely lost when she has written Z.
