The transfer quality on this DVD is totally rubbish - it is obviously from some dubious source. What a waste of money! Be warned!

... but a shame about the transfer! I've been waiting years for a re-issue of this film (which is excellent and worthy of five stars). Sadly, the DVD is one of the worst transfers I have seen - there is no contrast or detail whatsoever - movement is juddery - at least the audio is passable. My 25 year old VHS tape recorded at long play looks better!

I was very disappointed with the quality of this DVD. I've seen this movie many times and have a VHS copy which is a much superior. There are loads of artefacts on both picture and soundtrack. Don't buy- record it next time it's on TV.

Great movie, DVD quality good.
OK, perhaps this DVD edition doesn't deserve 5 stars. But it definitely deserves more than the 1 star two 'reviewers' gave it. So, my 5 make up a bit for the 2 times 1. Read more
