More About the Author

As long as I can remember I've had my nose buried in books. I grew up in a small mountain town, so when the weather turned bad (which it often did), books were my retreat. We didn't even have basic television until I was a teenager, so my family always did a weekly trip to the library.

But it was the year that I got The Chronicles of Narnia from my uncle and The Lord of the Rings from my dad for Christmas that changed everything.

Suddenly I was in new worlds, filled with magic and monsters. I was hooked, and there was no going back. Dune. Ender's Game. The Wheel of Time. A Song of Fire and Ice. I couldn't get enough of it. And when I was about ten, I decided I wanted to become a writer of fantasy and science fiction.

One thing that drove me crazy was the long waits between books in a series. George R.R. Martin and Robert Jordan are impressive writers, but it would take so long for them to release work that I would forget characters and events that happened. So even at a young age I never wanted to be that author that made my readers wait for the next volume in a series (I did learn as I got older that this had probably more to do with the publishers, and not the writers).

But, as I got older, I learned about traditional publishing, how difficult it was to get a book accepted by an agent, and even get published. Then you had to hope to make enough from royalties to make a real living, so my dream was abandoned.

Things change, and I was recently turned in the direction of e-publishing and indie writing... I could do things how I wanted, I could release stories as often as I wanted. I wasn't bound by traditional publishing to try and make writing my career. All there could be was me and the readers of my books.

I now live in Arizona with my fiance, dog, and two cats.

2.0 out of 5 stars Rushed 3 Dec 2013
By Idun

This reads like a cross between an action scene and a fps PC game, and I do like some action in my readings, but this was ridicules. We pretty much dive straight into a strip show described in odd amounts of details, followed by page after page of kickarsery - performed in underwear and thigh-highs, as is pointed out over and over - leaving little time to actually build any form of 'give a damn' about the heroine. I dunno, maybe it works for guys/ people who want action on the expense of character personality (yeah, I'm looking at you, triple-X crowd).

Add to that a few grammatical flops (not too many to ruin the story though) and a story that ends after what seems like the first chapter of a novel, with no resolution to anything, this novella disappointed big time. I'd expected much, much more from the cover and description, and if I'd paid for this it'd gotten 1 star.

5.0 out of 5 stars Succubus Lost -- found a fan for this gritty UF 6 Nov 2013

Fast-paced, well-written and (wonder of wonders for an indie publication) well-edited. I cannot tell you how much I truly appreciate not being pulled out of a story to look for a red pencil to note corrections.
I grabbed this while free to see if I liked the writing before buying The Unholy Trinity, of which this is the first part. I hadn't even gotten half-way through this before plunking down my money for the rest of the story, which I'm off to read now.
I hope Mr. Gage will continue with urban fantasy, he certainly has a flair for it.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Succubus Worth Rooting For 21 Sep 2013

Katie's not your average exotic dancer. She has a special gift for arousing and enthralling those around her. But like any gift, it comes with a price. For Katie, the price has been a steep one. Her special qualities have kept her from experiencing almost all types of intimacy. However, things get shaken up when she's attacked by unknown baddies who appear to be targeting her specifically. A mystery man comes to her rescue, offering not just help fending off the bad guys, but enticing hints about who Katie is. This novella is packed with action, but definitely has a sensual side too. It will be interesting to see where the series goes from here.

face with sex, sex, sex. Not that I opposed to a few steamy love scenes, it's nice to get the story first. I'm hooked and will be reading more!
