This is a good and useful book for anyone trying to give good presentations. Almost all the different aspects of giving presentations to different types of audiences have been touched in the book and there are some good tips. Two of the shortcomings of this book are that though matters are presented sequentially, there is no overall structure for a person to learn systematically except this scant mention in page 36. The second shortcoming is the scant attention devoted to PowerPoint, which is the standard for corporate presentations nowadays. The section on learning styles is good and necessary. It could improve with a few examples of how different people learn or process information at a presentation.

As a cross-cultural presentation trainer, working in many countries, I can say that addressing these shortcomings in the next edition would improve this good book even further.

I am really a specialist and consultant, but I was more and more often getting called upon to make training presentations. After some initial difficulties I began to find that I was actually enjoying the training sessions, and much of my success has been down to this book. I ran across the book quite by chance, and after reading the book, I was so inspired I wanted to read it again to ensure that I didn't miss anything important. Using the guidelines in this book, I’ve been able to design programmes that really involve the participants (the students), and my supervisors really like the design of my programmes. Most importantly, the students/participants loved it so much that I’ve been told that we’re expecting twice as many delegates at the next run of the course. As one of the other instructors put it, if the aim of the programme was to share knowledge in a truly pleasurable fashion, the goal was achieved. Without the information in this book about the various things to think about when you are designing a presentation my programme would not have been the success that it was. I will always be grateful to the author – Andrew Bradbury – for a book that is simple and also inspiring. It has made a big difference to the way I design and deliver my presentations. And I owe it to you. Thank you.

What I particularly liked about this book was its coverage of the preparation for a presentation, as well as the delivery.

It explained WHAT I needed to do, HOW to do it, and WHY. Well worth the price as far as I'm concerned.
