Refreshingly different.. this book is not attempting to spell out specific opportunities, rather awakening the reader to where to start sniffing. -- SMARTsig, May 2002

The bible of football betting discovered. Lucidly describes areas of bookmaker vulnerability. -- FourFourTwo, May 2002

There are excellent sections on the concept of value, eliminating losers and avoiding following the herd when making selections. -- Racing & Football Outlook, April 2002

Synopsis

'From a punter's point of view, there has never been a better time to get into football betting.' So says Geoff Harvey, backing his assertion with numerable examples and all the while describing many different methods of making the game pay handsomely. Packed full of good sense, detailed research and unique insights, Successful Football Betting also debunks many betting strategies that appear to be common sense yet consistently lose. Also author of Successful Spread Betting, Harvey brings his expertise to bear in this sphere as well as comprehensive analysis of fixed odds betting opportunities and pitfalls. This remarkable book focuses on changing the mind-set of the football punter and lucidly describes areas of bookmaker vulnerability, which, although constantly changing, are always there for the shrewd punter.

4.0 out of 5 stars Original, entertaining and full of useful advice 28 July 2002
By Ben VINE VOICE
Format:Paperback
Instead of the usual half-baked schemes one usually encounters in books of this nature this is a personal account of how the author maintains a modest success rate in 'beating the bookie' when gambling on football. It assumes some knowledge of gambling already so it is not really a beginners guide. As much a discussion in the psychology of winning and scoring goals as of the various methods used to make money, this book is interesting in itself to football fans as well as to gamblers and might help to make those of us who do like a wager on the beautiful game a little more successful in our endeavours!

4.0 out of 5 stars Could do with a summary 3 Jun 2005
Format:Paperback
After reading reviews about this book I bought the book.
It is a good read but could give a summary or review instead of me highlighting the points he makes in each chapter. For the money it is worth the purchase price.
