Product Description

Product Description

The ultimate purpose of developing a business plan is to have a successful business. In the long run, it is fruitless to write a business plan that can raise the funds you seek if your enterprise is so poorly conceived it is bound to fail. So a successful business plan should address the long–term needs of your business and devise strategies that enhance both the overall performance of your company and your personal satisfaction.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good starting point and reference, 20 Jul 1999
By A Customer
I have probably purchased 5 business plan books over the last year. I have also purchased a couple of business plan software programs (both unsatisfactory). None can be considered a definitive "best" book or resource. Each one has strengths and weaknesses, and anyone searching for a drop-in guide should re-think their goals. Abrams book, on the whole, is certainly one of the better business plan books. The advise and focus of the content are very salient to anyone out there looking for OPM.

1.0 out of 5 stars This book is a waste of time and money, 25 Jan 1999
By A Customer
I searched for a solid business plan book that could help me with my Internet-related business. I chose this one and after taking a serious look at it, I realized that it extremely out-of-date and flawed in a couple of areas. I have no one to blame other than myself for buying this, but unless you are looking for an insulting tired book, I recommend readers pass this one up.

5.0 out of 5 stars Unquestionably the best business plan guide out today, 15 Jun 1999
By A Customer
I have been doing business plans for several years now and Abrams' book is the best out there. It is clearly written, informative without being overly detailed and it walks the reader step-by-step through the business plan writing process. The book provides methods and items to perform research and does a solid job of explaining the difficult job of preparing projected financial statements. I cannot understand why anyone would give this book a dissapointing review. The few bad reviews that I've read criticize the book for everything that makes it such a strong read. If you are writing a business plan you should have this book. If you are experienced in writing business plans, you should have this book for reference.

1.0 out of 5 stars This book is not so helpful and really misleading.
This book overwelms the average small business person with a dearth of blabber and nebulous concepts. The author has obviously never dared try and operate a business.
