Great Resource if you are looking for saws, maintenance and setup 28 Oct 2008
By Sonya - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
I just recently took a woodworking basic class at Woodcrafters. Of course, they have the best equipment around, including the Saw Stop table. WOW - I wish I could barter my firstborn for that saw! LOL Once you take the class though, if you don't get right into it, you forget some of what was taught, especially after a vacation.

Anyway, I was looking for a book that explained the various saws, since I can't afford that particular saw. There is info on what to look for in a saw, various types of saw, setting up and maintaining a table saw and pros and cons of each type of saw. The detailed information on the saws and especially the set up, anatomy of the saw and maintenance was really helpful. When you take a class everything is already set and you get more rudimentary training. The author also talks about safety and dust control , which is very important in my small workshop.

I would definitely recommend this book, especially for someone not familiar or very comfortable with using and setting up table saws.
