1.0 out of 5 stars Too Simple, does not reflect difficulty of the UKCAT, 4 Sep 2010
This review is from: Succeeding in the 2009 UK Clinical Aptitude Test (UKCAT) (Entry to Medical School) (Paperback)
This book is not the best one to buy, if you have a limited budget and want to prepare for the UKCAT. The book is well written and gives a broad and fair description of all the areas covered. It gives a good description of the Decision Analysis (DA) subtest and provides relatively good practice questions here and also for the VR (verbal reasoning subtest). However, the book fails to provide ANY advice on the Non-cognitive analysis subtest and although the advice provided for the QR and AR subtests is sound, the practice questions given are too few and too simple. This is a good introduction to what the UKCAT is about and helps you get to grips with this (quite daunting test) however - DO NOT BUY THIS BOOK ALONE! YOU WILL DEFINITELY NEED ANOTHER BOOK which goes into more depth and to give you realistic challenges to prepare you for the test. If you base your UKCAT study purely on the practice questions provided in this book you will be unpleasantly surprised on the day of the test.

1.0 out of 5 stars Too Simple - not good enough, 7 Sep 2010
This review is from: Succeeding in the 2009 UK Clinical Aptitude Test (UKCAT) (Entry to Medical School) (Paperback)
The practice questions in the book are not complex enough for the UKCAT. Especially the AR. Very simple.

As the UKCAT is looming, I bought several revision books just as to boost my score. The content in this book is quite relevent, but compared to other books, this one has much fewer questions.
