...is putting it mildly with this book.
I opened it up in my local bookshop and couldn't believe what I was reading! Not that I've lived a sheltered life, just merely not read that kind of language in a book before. So beware, it's not the sort of thing you'd want your kid to get hold of!
The subject matter, a S&M relationship, is still quite taboo in todays society which may entice you to read it, to get a view on something that people don't tend to talk about. This book is quite honest in it's description, not dressing it up or down or making it glamourous in any way.
I found it hard to understand, not partaking in such an activity, why anyone would want to do this, including the central character who has a successful career and is married with a child, the latter being the only thing that makes her feel guilty for messing about.
All in all, the book follows day by day as she becomes more dependant and reliant on his orders. It can all get a bit tedious once you get over the initial shock. At the beginning of the book you can relate to the central character, this does drift off in the middle but comes back together at the end.
Not for the easily offended, interesting but not the best thing I've read recently.
