The Style Me Vintage books are expensive for what they are. However they are packaged well to look good but there's little creativity here on the part of the editors or publisher, but what made me really angry is that I had already bought Style Me Vintage Clothes, Style Me Vintage Hair, Style Me Vintage Make-Up costing at least £30 and I then bought Style Me Vintage Step-by-step-Retro Look Book at £20 only to discover when it arrived that all it is, is the identical 3 Style Me Vintage titles that I had already bought, all 3 titles bound up together in one volume, with absolutely no mention of this anywhere. Why would a Publisher do this unless they were behaving in a fraudulent manner? I would never have bought this 4th book if I had known it contained the same titles, so as far as I am concerned this is fraudulent practice as the Publisher does not mention or make this clear anywhere...

I stumbled across this excellent publication whilst looking for presents for my ever stylish sister. This is a refreshingly un-pretentious read with great photography throughout. A top choice to leave amongst your other vintage books on your coffee table.

This is a lovely little book packed with great ideas on how to create your own vintage look. Other books I've seen are usually too detailed whereas this one tells you exactly how the get the look without getting bogged down in historical detail. It's also a great present - I have bought it for my daughter who's at uni and just getting into vintage.

It is a nice little book about VIntage, but I expected more I must say. It gives the basic tips about each decade between 1920's and the 1980's, but it is very little. I expected to find tips about how to change/re-style the clothes I already have to create a Vintage style. That is still possible, but through indirect information. It is very nice though, nice pics, nice tips and at the end there is a list of shops (online too) where to find real vintage and it teaches how to distinguish real vintage too. If one knows next to nothing on the subject it is a very nice buy.

This is my favourite of the 'Style Me Vintage' series, it's jam-packed with really useful and no-nonsense advice from what to look out for when vintage shopping to how to remove stale sweat smell.

I am hugely passionate about vintage and as such know quite a lot about period styles, yet I still found this an interesting read - although I think this book will be particularly useful for those new to vintage.

The styles for each decade (usually various looks including daywear, evening wear, formal and more casual styles) are beautifully put together and immaculately styled.

Within the constraints of the format (this isn't meant to be a detailed study)this is a really nifty little guide which works both as an introduction to vintage shopping and styles as well as a lovely read for long-term vintage lovers.

This is a good book to start your Vintage Shopping life. It has clear explanations and useful pictures to help you sort out what style you want. The lists of web sites and shops is also useful to help you see just what is out there. Good shopping tips and helpful ideas about what to look for when buying vintage clothes have been invaluable, already.

I bought this book to research the 1940's. As a starter book, this is fine with many good tips on what to look out for when buying original clothes. I would have liked to see more information in general.

Overall, I am not too impressed, but is okay for a "coffee table" book.Style Me Vintage: Clothes: A Guide to Sourcing and Creating Retro Looks

This is a beautifully presented little book, got some great tips on different cuts for different era's and lovely photo's, and I would thoroughly recommend this to anyone who is just wanting to get into vintage and repro clothing for different era's. There are also some great treatment tips.
The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that for me all it did was confirm what I had already thought and gleaned from different websites and publications..... but I have done an awful lot of internet trawling and you-tube posts.
For your one-stop shop it's a definate buy and always lovely to have on the shelf.... I actually have two as I bought on and was kindly given one as a birthday present
