Product Description

How does the world settle its differences, now there is only one superpower? What happens to leaders risking their credibility with sceptical publics? From events which have dominated international headlines for the last three years David Hare has fashioned both an historical narrative and a human drama about the frustrations of power and the limits of diplomacy.

Just Stuff 1 Oct 2011
Format:Paperback
Stuff Happens is the text of a play that was performed at the National Theatre and relates to the conduct of the Iraq war and the dreadful motivation of the key political players in the UK and the USA. The topic is well worth exploring and the untrustworthy nature of politicians worth exposing. Unfortunately a play with some fifty speaking parts and a text made up of not especially well thought out cut and paste material does not justify the support of the National Theatre, however commendable the anti-establishment content presented by an establishment institution. Stuff Happens is simply not theatrical and a disappointing piece by the playwright. Had this play been presented by a new playwright it would have rapidly been dispatched to the dustbin, and rightly so.

This play has been created from letters and reports written and told by the governments themselves.

For anyone interested in modern politics, its worth the read!
