I am reviewing this as a recent student and current teacher of media studies. The text is very focused towards the main sections of different syllabi, as indicated by the chapter titles. The layout and general appearance of this book is particularly impressive. The graphics are well-chosen and pertinent. The text is broken up into clear sub-sections. It is not off-puttingly dense. Each section maintains a good balance between history, theory and example/ case study. It does not attempt to answer all the questions, but neither does it leave the student with a mass of bewildering questions. All in all, a very solid A level book.
