If you want the tools to ace college and enjoy life while doing it, you can gain them in this book and begin applying them to your life immediately.

Millions of students at campuses around the globe face the struggle of learning to study and excel in their new college environment. It’s a totally different world than when you were in high school. It’s tragic to strive for good grades at the cost of the things you love.

It is entirely possible for you to excel in college and have a thriving social life. In Study Secrets, you have the chance to learn how this is possible from someone who has experienced it first-hand.

Brett Anderson graduated magna cum laude with his bachelor’s degree in industrial and systems engineering from Virginia Tech and remained on campus one additional year to complete his masters. During his time on campus, he won many accolades.

He won merit based scholarships and awards, was a member of honor societies and advisory councils, held numerous leadership positions on campus, and completed three internships in his field of study. Additionally, Brett made time to pursue personal interests such as hiking, running, and woodworking. But above all, he had more than enough time to enjoy fun nights out.

This book was written specifically to share Brett's secrets for collegiate success with you. If you want to learn how to achieve great results in college and keep your social life, look no further.

As you read the following list, think about how much benefit a clear answer to any of these questions would bring to your life:

How do I pick my major?

How do I pick my classes and plan for a semester?

How do I make daily progress towards my goals?

How do I prepare for tests?

How do I find an internship or job?

How do I write a resume and prepare for a job interview?

Even if you only gained the answer to one of these questions, the benefit would more than justify the purchase price of this book. This book covers all of these major questions and so much more.

Taking action today is the first step towards keeping your fun nights out AND earning a great GPA.

5.0 out of 5 stars great stuff - very comprehensive 21 Feb 2014

This was a great eBook IMO - it really laid out how to ace your studies AND have a life. I think this is something a lot of students struggle with. As a mature student who is studying part-time and working full-time, I am often torn between thinking I need to get my studying done and worrying about if I'll ever have time for fun again! Even though I don't study at a campus, this book was still full of helpful hints and motivation.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Resource for Continued Education! 11 Jan 2013

Study Secrets is a must-have guide for all incoming and current college students and its use can be extended beyond the classroom setting. It provides excellent examples of organization, time management, and decision-making skills necessary to improve the quality of your education and, ultimately, your life. Brett Anderson does an exemplary job of communicating each of his key points with references, diagrams, and his own past experiences. I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in pursuing a college education or becoming more efficient.
2.0 out of 5 stars Not quite what I expected 18 Nov 2013
By A. Keller - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This book isn't really about "study secrets" like you'd expect (aka - how to study) but rather how to get organized and ready to start school and managing your time when you get there.
4.0 out of 5 stars I was surprised and delighted! 20 Mar 2013

I did not really expect much from this book, as I am not a huge fan of "how to work without sacrificing partying."

However, I found this book full of very excellent advice not only for studying, but also for structuring my time so that I can get done what I want to get done and still leave room for the unexpected gifts life brings every day.

I highly recommend this for anyone! It's nicely written and an easy read.

Do yourself a favor: read this book and implement its strategies! You won't be sorry!
1.0 out of 5 stars It's okay 23 Feb 2013

It was okay , but I wanted to know how to study, not how to make time for study or how to get a job so i was little disapointed.

Kindle edition.

The good (the great):
Anderson is an erudite author who does a fantastic job of synthesizing literature and personal experience in a novel way that's extraordinarily useful for aspiring young adults who are interested in post-secondary education. His own experiences are enveloped within relevant motifs drawn from an astronomical array of literature. Anderson is an outstanding strategic thinker and his book makes this fact very clear via the frequent theme of "metacognition" that is subtly woven into each and every page of this book, beginning with advice on how to read the book, and ending each chapter with a summary and exercise. The philosophical (strategy) advice and the practical (tactics) advice are outstanding and a powerful synergy arises from this potent combination. The book is worth reading alone based on the quality of the aforementioned advice, but the extensions of technology (operational; Google Calendar, tracking methods, etc) that Anderson expounds on are quite novel and easy to apply. At this bargain price, it's worth giving this book a look; you will undoubtedly learn something insightful.

The bad (the "not great"):
Anderson doesn't do a great job of separating things in a concise manner. His personal anecdotes are informative and very pertinent to the subject material but the distinction between his experience and his advice needs to be made a little more obvious. Some of the quotations and paraphrasing need to be illustrated a little better, the book could benefit from the use of "block quotes" to highlight certain passages. Some facts and statistics need outright citations. A lot of the highly technical aspects, which are extraordinarily useful, need to be moved to appendices. Less fragmented paragraphs and suble improvements to grammar are crucially important, and segues and "informal" commentaries must be used tactfully; though to be fair, while Anderson a prolific strategist and author, a flowing work of poetry is not what one would expect this book to be anyhow.

The ugly:
The title and cover of this book do not adequately prepare the reader for what they're about to read. The cheap cover art and the title "Study Secrets" is distasteful and makes the book unappetizing. "Study Secrets" does not do justice to the myriad of material that's covered in the book. There are also several instances wherein the language Anderson uses indicate poor judgment and could be considered offensive to some on a personal level. The "author bio" is grossly insufficient and does not give justice to Anderson as a man and his credentials. I suspect that Anderson, with his relentless drive for self-improvement and efficiency, will revise and improve this book greatly.

Disclaimer: I'm familiar with the author and his anecdotes and abilities. Brett is indeed a prodigious and aspiring individual and exemplifies the quote at the beginning of "Chapter 4: How to Make Daily Progress Towards Long Term Plans", from the famed American inventrepreneur Thomas Edison: "Vision without execution is hallucination." Brett had a vision for this book, and he executed everything that needed to be done in order to make it a reality. This is an impressive step into the world of writing for a busy man in his early twenties. His literary abilities are otherworldly, and when he references other literature, he is not putting on a façade. Brett is an erudite scholar who is capable of critically reading many books and this is and will be reflected in all of his writings. I genuinely look forward to his writings in the future.
