More About the Author

Jaime R. Gage was born in 1970 into a loving Christian home in the San Antonio, TX located in the United States. He learned, studied, and excelled in Biblical knowledge from his parents and his local church. At the age of seven he remembers "playing preacher" with a fellow church friend. Little did he know that his childhood acting was a foreshadowing of his future that would take place as an adult. In 2003, Jaime was called to preach after seven years of intensive spiritual training on how to uncover the revelation knowledge of God.

As an accomplished preacher and a ministry catered to established Christians, Jaime discovered that when he delivered a message with "revelation," his listeners responded with a hunger for more knowledge. He realized that all believers desired deeper spiritual fulfillment than what they received on their occasional trek to church on Sunday mornings. Their busy lives and fast-tracked family lifestyle, so prevalent in today's society, limited the amount of time they had to attend additional services to learn more about God. In fact, he discovered that most Christians only had a basic understanding of the Bible. The reason was because they just didn't know how or where to start reading to really understand its meaning. He found that most Christians depended on daily devotionals to supplement their time with God, but beyond that, their spiritual food was limited to weekly church services. What about beyond the devotional or the one-sermon a week routine? How could a Christian find the resources to learn more about the Word of God?

Several years after his initial calling to preach, Jaime was led by the Lord to spread his ministry to mainstream Christianity. His "calling" is to teach and equip all Christians to discover and understand the Word of God in a way they never new existed. Aside from the Bible, his first book, "How to Study the Bible to Unleash Revelation Power" is the crux of his ministry. Originally intended for preachers and teachers, he realized that the best way to equip Christians was to design a "how to guide" for everyone wishing to understand the deeper mysteries of God.

Jaime hopes that when you read his books, you will share them with your pastor, fellow believers and your Bible study leaders. His main goal is to impart into you, a skill that will last a lifetime.

I'm typically English and tend to be somewaht reserved compared to our American cousins. It is this tendency that may explain my immediate reaction to a title like this. However, I have to say that this book starts on the right note. The author rightly tells us that we cannot rely only upon a cursory reading, even study, of the New Testament, we need to understand the whole Word of God - both Old & New Testaments. He also informs us that, if we rely solely on the weekly sermons and arranged Bible studies, we will only find ourselves going without all that God has for us.

I have to agree fully with these ideas, each of us needs to begin to progress from the "milk of the Word" to enjoying real meat from God's table of delight. The Word of God is not something we simply read, nor is it something we merely study as an academic exercise; God's Word needs to make a difference in our everyday life. In fact, unless we understand how any passage or study within the Bible applies to our lives today, we have not really understood it.

In this book you will find how to study the Bible without the aid of a commentary. I certainly cannot agree with all the author tells us but this book is worth reading, with the discernment the Holy Spirit will give if you ask, and hopefully you will begin the exciting journey of learning more and more of your Saviour & Lord and His will for your life.

For all of us who yearn to understand instead of rely on someone elses explanation, this is a very nice book to get you started on your journey.

And you get to learn the power of words that will show you how to prepare a sermon that doesnt put others to sleep! Worth a read (unless you are treating sleeping disorders and want others to sleep...)

5.0 out of 5 stars Gain Revelation While Studying Your Bible 13 Nov 2012

This is a well written book. It has been edited and reviewed well.
I have read the Bible multiple times throughout the years, but I have not discovered a good way to really `read' the Bible. This book helped me to understand how I can read and study the Bible for revelation (not the book of Revelation in the Bible), which is basically uncovering the truths beneath the surface of the Scripture passage you are reading.
This book is one of the best introductions to studying the Bible I have ever found. The author does an excellent job of making many seemingly advanced topics to help read and study the Bible much simpler.
Just click on the "Click to LOOK INSIDE" and scan the table of contents, if that isn't enough to get you to buy and read this book...
The author explains some English and Greek terms and it now makes so much more sense to me.
One of the main messages of the book is that you don't need a library of books and multiple tools to study deeply into the Bible. The author recommends a short list of tools.
I give this book my highest recommendation. Buy this book and you will learn and be blessed.

This book is very good for anyone wanting to get down to really studying their Bible. It doesn't just take verses "as is" but helps the reader to discover the meaning and intent behind the words and gives tips on how to create a whole study around it. Great for anyone who is looking to create fascinating Bible classes.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Book that Waters the Ground for Spiritual Growth 26 Dec 2012
By Elmo Adams - Published on
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I took a bit more time with this book than I do with some because it is a dense book, full of ideas and observations.

Many things the author talked of were the same things that I had seen over the years. Like him I attended Baptist churches where the order of the day was almost always winning souls even though the battle was over, all that was left was preaching to the choir. Like him I wanted more meat - to step up to the next level.

I was able to do this to an extent when I went to college, but then my path diverted from that of Gage. I had planned to be in church education, but instead went into public education. Since Jaime Gage stayed very involved in the ministry, he has gained knowledge and experience beyond mine, Now that I am back into church education I can use Jaime's book to somewhat "catch up."

The author provides good systems for speakers, but his ideas are not just for Preachers but for most church members.

Jaime also pointed me in this book to a very valuable on line tool for doing Bible study. You will use it again and again.

Whenever you read and study you will not take it ALL it. This book is the same. For example, the author writes of the meaning of numbers in the Bible. I will have to go back and look at that again. But that is as it should be.

5.0 out of 5 stars Inspiring 2 Dec 2012

The story told in the introduction of this book leaves little doubt that the author is well qualified to inspire readers and congregations alike.
I have the feeling that everything taught in this book closely parallels the wonderful journey that he's travelled personally. He takes those lessons and thinks about who would find them valuable. Preachers, teachers and church leaders alike.
He thinks about his readers and what they will find most powerful. I like thinking in terms of the 80/20 principle and Jaime has definitely focused on the 20% of activities which lead to 80% improvement for anyone looking to lead a Bible study, give a sermon or add substance to their daily life.
A wonderful book.
