The Dutch painter Gerard ter Borch (1617-1681) was a slightly older contemporary of Johannes Vermeer. The colour reproductions included in the book are of good quality. I would have liked to have seen more details though. Not all of the best of ter Borch's works are represented here and when I saw many interesting reproductions of his in small and in black and white it just left me wanting to see more.
