Fun:
I think the first version of this came out in about 2001 and now we have the "extreme" version. New campaign with the extreme levels added on.
I got this as a gift for my nethew who was getting a computer for christmas. I was sorting his new PC out and decided to have a go as I was leaving it pre-installed and was there for hours! Started with the extreme thinking I could take it and 30 seconds later I was on fire and defeated. The normal levels take you from beginer to hardcore and has something for everyone. Think of it as command and conquer in the middle ages.

its been a while since i checked for any new games here so was pleasantly surprised. a tough game - hey - that's why they called it extreme you numpties!!
i thoroughly enjoyed it. key to success is finding the money making resource in the level and from the off sending/sacrificing a squad of macemen to immediately knock out a computer oponent or a some of their mercinary tents to give yourself a fighting chance. the numbers are so huge that it can become a little tiresome plodding to victory as you slowly manage to tip the balance and being able to drop a volley of boulders anywhere on the map seems like cheating! good fun though and looking forward to stronghold 3 in spring 2011

Bloody impossible
It`s just TOO hard, and I have been playing computer games for a LONG while. Too damned hard. Off the drive in a week.

Extreme?? Perhaps a bit too extreme
The gameplay is simple but the game lacks the free play mode which is present in the other Stronghold games. Read more
