Robert Cray has been, and continues to be, a breath of fresh air to blues music. Cray strongly maintains the use of a story in every song which is traditional to the blues, and he has the great ability to make every song a mini drama of betrayal, or bitterness, hope, or love, or whatever; all moving atmospheric songs which you can actually picture as you listen. This album is outstanding as every track is of the highest quality sung with Cray's usual soulful passionate voice and supported by his sometimes staggered, sometimes flowing, guitar work which is excellent. Listen to 'Smoking Gun', 'I Guess I Showed Her', and 'Right Next Door (Because Of Me)' for starters; every track of this ten track cd is blues at its best. This cd is essential to any blues collection, in fact its essential to any contemporary music collection. Good one, Bob!
