If you are looking to compliment your collection of genuine, minimalist trip-hop along the lines of Portishead go for it. Go for the 'Salt Peter' album too.Both will sit easily on the shelf with Moorcheba, Lamb, Mazzy Star...

Yow! Ruby's the kind of girl who would've never been a cheerleader or in a sorority. She knows what's sexy--just listen to her 3 a.m. voice singing Swallow Baby. It's addictive.

Evil lyric

The biggest stand out when it comes to comparing ruby to other Female vocalist .. specially within the trip hop area is her lyric are much darker and vulgar. I mean the title of the album refer's to vulgar slang phrase, and she admits to it, I am not making this up. Plus there is many other vocals that are just as bad, if not worse. I am not dissing her i think its great to hear this kinda of straight forward sexy darkness coming from a female. I never went out and got the actual album, only this for some reason, I just kinda had to much stuff I wanted to buy instead. The songs on here are really great, and if your a big fan of Trip hop these songs fit well beside the others. The Cd extra's include A video and a bunch of text to read. If your a Ruby fan I would concider this a must buy.
