Book Description

Stripped Bare

If you gamble with the gangsters the stake is your life

Never a couple to conform, Jamie and Lauren’s wedding is set to take place in Las Vegas but not before their obligatory hen and stag do’s on the same trip.

Her military-like attention to detail will ensure there are no mishaps in the travel arrangements for friends and family. Only one thing could let her down now; him.

Travelling a day earlier, Jamie’s stag do is quickly sucked into an American gang culture that none of them understand, they soon discover that money isn’t the only thing to lose in Las Vegas.

A promise to his fiancée and a night at a strip club lure the group away from the protective bubble of The Strip and deep into a fragmented gang culture about to implode.

Any pre-wedding nerves are cast to once side as the group become the number one target for both the gangs and the police in the Valley’s bloodiest weekend since the mob ruled.

But as the real motives for some of the group travelling to Sin City emerge they are plunged into ever deepening crisis. By the time the girls turn up their party of a lifetime has turned into a gamble just to stay alive.

And as the body count mounts it is the unlikeliest of relationships with a six year old girl that will ultimately decide whether he says I do or I don’t and whether he lives or dies.

4.0 out of 5 stars Viva las vegas 17 April 2012

As I have visited Las Vegas for the last 3years, and I am getting married there in June, I thought I would give Stripped Bare a read. When reading the book I felt like I was actually there. The storyline had you thinking where was it going to go and kept you wanting to read on to find out what happens in the end.
The ending wasn't what I expected, but made me smile.

A very good read

5.0 out of 5 stars loved stripped bare 26 May 2012

This is the fourth book i've read by this author who in my mind keeps delivering knockout storylines. Using characters from Chasing Doves this see's the lads venture to Vegas for a Stagg Do and almost instantly get in with the wrong crowd. This book kept me gripped from start to finish. Brilliant. cant wait or his 5th book

5.0 out of 5 stars You can't put it down 26 Aug. 2012

This is a riveting read and hugely enjoyable. The exploits and adventures of the characters mean you can't put it down. Las Vegas is the ultimate stag party destination and its great seeing the splendour of it all going horribly wrong for a bunch of lads from the UK!

Loved this book! I have read Phil's other novels but I think this one is my favourite up to now. I was gripped and love that even though it was dark in places I was also laughing out loud at some parts. Brilliant read.

I loved this book having read the other three by Phil Martin, it kept me hooked all the way through and it was great to continue a story line. Dark in places and sometime these lads just can not catch a break! Brilliant.

3.0 out of 5 stars Yet another lads night out story 2 Jan. 2015
By philp
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
There seems to be a growing number of authors who think a bunch of blokes getting drunk and disorderly and messing up the arrangements for a wedding/funeral/job interview/holiday/drug deal is the ideal premise for a great read. That's not necessarily true, as demonstrated here. The use of English is never quite right, particularly the sporadic attempts to reproduce colloquial dialogue, which only tend to diminish any dramatic tension which may have been present. The characters lack individuality, and could come from any number of similar novels, and the plot is almost irrelevant. This genre clearly appeals to many readers, but there are better (and worse) examples to choose from.
