The lamp does what it's intended for but the actual fitting of the strip bulb is tight with not much room either side for the contacts. It will work if you fiddle a little and line it up correctly. Be careful and take this in to consideration. You may find, depending on the seller, that no plug is fitted or even supplied.

A neat and attractive lamp. I ordered two and they arrived quite quickly. Unfortunately one of them did not work. Fortunately I am a practical kind of guy so it was no problem to strip down the faulty lamp and locate a broken cable which should have been attached to one of the contacts to the lamp tube. A swift spot of soldering, it should have been attached with a screw but it was the eyelet terminal that was broken, and it was up and working. While it was stripped down I noted that the pull switch was a quality product.

I bought this for an over-sink light, as it's safe for over-sink location being as it's pull-cord not ordinary switch - mine is fixed to the underside of an over-sink cupboard, where the pull-cord pulls out towards us rather than down, but that's OK.
I was surprised it didn't come with a bulb nor plug nor fixings, hence I thought I'd put that in my review title, to let people know. However, that wasn't a problem as plugs are easy to fix - if anyone doesn't know how to fit a plug, please look it up on YouTube - I'd provide a link to a suitable page except that, when I tried doing that, my review was rejected because web-links aren't allowed!
I bought an LED bulb for it (wasn't available on Amazon & so I had to buy it on Ebay - where I also found the striplight cheaper, never mind! - & see at end a story about Ebay, if interested!* - short version is I'd much rather buy on Amazon at the moment! - & it's possible that the LED bulb is now available on Amazon, I dunno, haven't looked again yet.)
Obviously to test that the striplight works, which I decided to do before fitting it, I had to insert the bulb, which I found very difficult the first time because the bulb-holder is so stiff the first time a bulb is inserted - then the bulb has to be removed again for fixing the striplight to wherever it's going because the screw-holes are underneath the bulb - but then luckily I found that the bulb goes back in much more easily the second time it's inserted, phew!
I've used the striplight several times a day since I bought it about 6-12 months ago & it's still working absolutely perfectly, hence the 5-star review.
